Freaktet
jamtronigroove to make you move
Freaktet originally formed in San Francisco in 2002, and quickly gained notoriety playing opening sets for the likes of Herbie Hancock, Melvin Sparks, Leo Nocentelli, Steve Kimock, New Monsoon, and many others, and headlining their own shows in many of the city’s iconic groove venues. Their original material fit in with both jazz/groove and jamband audiences alike, and they peppered their sets with covers of artists as diverse as Rahsaan Roland Kirk, the Grateful Dead, The Meters, John Scofield, and Soulive. Freaktet is sometimes perceived as having broken up after a tour in 2006, but the reality is that they never officially split up — in fact, they have been playing virtual intra-galactic holographic shows together through highly secret advanced meta-psychic technologies ever since. In early 2019, the band announced a limited number of in-person “reunion” shows in the San Francisco Bay Area on their home planet, Earth. Catch ‘em while you can…
